Why Not Prune Blueberry In Summer?

Blueberries should be pruned in the late winter and early spring when the plants are dormant. In the summer and fall, avoid trimming immediately after harvesting. Blueberries, which are hardy in USDA plant hardiness zones 3 through 10, depending on the type, begin to create bloom buds for the following year’s production during this period.
